Natural stone is not a colour swatch. The veining, movement and balance of each slab change how a top should be cut and what the base beneath it needs to do. Selection happens for the individual commission, not from a generic sample alone.
Designing with stone
Protected at the edge, supported through the centre.
Stone performs best when its weight and vulnerable edges are considered from the first drawing. Timber can frame an arris, soften contact points and give the piece something repairable where daily knocks are most likely.
